Wrought Iron Fence Repair in Houston, TX

Restore the fence you have, not replace it.

Houston is hard on iron

Gulf humidity keeps metal damp for days, and storm season brings wind, rain and standing water. That combination is why Houston iron rusts from the bottom up and at every weld. Most of it is not beyond saving. We cut out the rusted sections, weld in new metal, reset leaning posts and paint the fence by hand, for a fraction of the cost of new. Wrought Iron Rescue is now serving Houston. Call or text our Houston line at (346) 680-0998.

What we see most in Houston

Humidity, storms and soft ground, and the rust that comes with them.

Rust at the base

Pickets and posts sitting in damp soil and sprinkler spray rust from the bottom up first.

Rust at welds and joints

Humidity sits where metal meets metal. Welds and rail joints rust first, then the rust spreads along the run.

Storm damage

Bent pickets and panels knocked loose by wind and falling limbs.

Leaning posts

Soft, wet ground lets posts shift out of line. We pull and reset them.

Sagging gates

Gates that drag, will not latch or need a shove to close. Usually a hinge, a weld or a post that has moved.

Older ironwork

Established neighborhoods like the Heights, Montrose and River Oaks have ironwork worth restoring rather than replacing.

Why repair makes sense in Houston

Most iron fences fail at the coating and the bottom few inches, not throughout. Cutting out the bad metal and refinishing the run costs a fraction of replacement, and you keep the fence’s original design.

How we repair a wrought iron fence

Prep

The crew works the whole run first, scraping away every bit of flaking and failing paint back to sound metal. On older ironwork this is most of the job, and it is done by hand where the detail is fine.

Metal work

Where a section has rusted through or broken, we cut out the bad metal and weld in new to match. Old welds that have separated get rewelded.

Gates

Every gate works properly when we leave. Realigned, rehung, rewelded, latch rebuilt — whatever it takes.

Paint

Everything is painted by hand with oil-based Rust-Oleum containing a rust inhibitor. Painting by hand reaches into scrollwork and weld seams that a sprayer skips.

Walkthrough

Before the crew leaves, they walk the fence with you. If something is not right, it gets put right while they are still on site.
